SEAISLE
1 LOW FERTILITY REQUIREMENTS
The paspalums developed and thrived
in stressful ocean-exposed ecosystems.
This helps explain how SeaIsle
1 developed such efficient nutrient
uptake and utilisation mechanisms. SeaIsle
1 will grow when the availability
of nutrients is quite low, as well as
in situations with severe nutrient imbalances.
Because Sea
Isle 1 is so efficient in its
uptake of nitrogen, less than 2.5kg of
N per 100 sq. metres (5 pounds of N per
1000 square feet) is recommended via spoon-feeding
on an annual basis.
